About Frank

Leadership and personal development have fascinated me throughout my life. From a young age, I was intrigued by what drives people and organisations. My career has taken me from consulting to executive roles and, ultimately, to coaching and supervisory positions. With both head and heart, I help others grow and build strong, resilient teams.

I was born in Rotterdam in 1966 and spent my entire childhood in Den Helder. My fascination with leadership began there, watching the navy and observing my father in his role as a commander. Sadly, he passed away far too soon.

I studied Computer Science at TU Delft and started my career at Accenture in the early 1990s, working on large-scale transformation projects and system implementations. After completing my MBA at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France, I spent two years as a strategy consultant at McKinsey.

In the late 1990s, I transitioned into the corporate world. As an operational manager at Albert Heijn, I worked in logistics and store operations—fulfilling a deep desire to lead large operational teams. After a brief period as CIO at DeliXL, I spent six years at the Dutch State Lottery, where I joined the board in 2006 as CIO and COO. I then held executive positions for many years at organisations including Sdu, Wegener, Sanoma Learning, and bol.com. Recurring themes throughout my career have been digital transformation, strategy, and organisational development.

In recent years, I have taken on supervisory and board roles in various public and private sector organisations in both the Netherlands and Flanders. A few years ago, I made the transition to coaching, giving expression to my deep-rooted passion for leadership—drawing on both my personal experience and the world around me.

Today, I work as an executive coach and team coach, deliver keynote speeches inspired by my book, and teach leadership development.

My entire career, along with profound life experiences, has had a significant impact on who I am today, how I view the world, and what I want to contribute. That is my compass—guiding me every day.

I believe in the development of individuals and organisations. In the immense power and inspiration of true leadership. Where head and heart come together, enabling us to make the right decisions and create environments where we want to work, where we want to be. This belief is both my experience and my driving force in the work I do.

But above all, I have been with Mariëlle for many years, and I am the proud father of Max and Joep. I live and work in The Hague and, increasingly, in our cosy farmhouse in Normandy, France.
