An energetic start to 2023: episode 5 in the series ‘DNA of leadership – Perspectives on leadership’.

In this episode I talk to Marcella Bremer, consultant, trainer and author in the field of organizational culture. We have common roots in Den Helder where both our fathers worked in the Navy. After her studies in Rotterdam, Marcella became increasingly fascinated by the phenomenon of culture in organizations. Over the years, Marcella has developed into a leading expert in the field of organizational culture. Culture is ‘fascinating or tiring’ as she puts it herself. Marcella elaborates on the four types (archetypes) of culture that she sees within organizations, the frameworks and assessments that her company has developed. We talked about ‘positive psychology’ and how Marcella applies it in her work.

In the conversation, we pay a lot of attention to the relationship between organizational culture and leadership. About the importance of self-awareness among leaders and the need to ask the right questions to start the real dialogue within an organization. ‘A leader is a host’, as Marcella aptly described it.

I wish you a lot of fun and inspiration with this episode!
