For the third episode, I talked to Pieter Ligthart, managing director at Russell Reynolds Associates (one of the leading international executive search firms).

In this energetic and personal conversation, Pieter discusses his years of experience working with leaders and their teams. That leadership is above all a choice. Pieter also discusses his role as a facilitator at leadership trails and how such a week in nature makes a major contribution to the self-leadership of the participants. And we reflected on Pieter’s optimism for the leadership of tomorrow. ‘Be an eagle, and not a hamster’, Pieter said at the end of the conversation. A hamster is locked in a cage and keeps walking around on the treadmill. An eagle takes off, sees what is happening, and then takes action.

This is the third episode in the eight-part series ‘DNA of leadership – Perspectives on leadership’. I’m very curious what you think of it. Send me a message, or share the series in your network (thanks in advance!)
